Look for Barred Owl, Pied-billed Grebe and Barrows Golden Eye. The Lakes Annette, Edith and Beauvert also provide a good assortment of birds to watch. The Old Fort Point has great views and is the starting point for an extensive trail network. As well, you will want to visit The Whistlers, home of the camouflaged ptarmigan. Visiting a variety of habitats will present you the best results for seeing different bird species, including along the Athabasca River.
